31 Former Nashville Sounds Shine in 2026 World Baseball Classic

Nashville, TN – This month international baseball shines as the 2026 World Baseball Classic (WBC) is underway in multiple locations and Nashville is well represented on teams from across the globe. 31 former Nashville Sounds are represented on a total of 15 different countries rosters.
Tournament competition runs from March 4 to March 17, with games hosted in Miami, Houston, San Juan, PR, and Tokyo, Japan. The grand finale of the tournament will take place at LoanDepot Park in Miami.
Yesterday, the World Baseball Classic kicked off featuring several matchups. Australia beat Chinese Taipei in Japan 3-0. State side, in exhibition play, Canada edged out the Philadelphia Phillies, winning 5-3. The Netherlands managed a close victory against the Tampa Bay Rays, finishing 11-8. The New York Mets beating Israel 5-2 and the Detroit Tigers tied 4-4 with the Dominican Republic. Finally, the Los Angeles Dodgers narrowly defeated Mexico, 7-5.
Earlier today in Japan, South Korea defeated Czech Republic 11-4 in pool play and Australia faces Czechia later this evening. Check mlb.com for times and locations.
