MTSU Women's Soccer Beat Evansville 3-1

Murfreesboro, TN - Middle Tennessee Women’s Soccer turned pressure into production Thursday night, rallying to a 3-1 victory over Evansville as the Blue Raiders overcame a stubborn Purple Aces defense and logged two key career milestones.

Freshman forward Ania Denham was the spark again, delivering her team-leading fifth goal—coming off her second free-kick score of the season. The tally marked Denham’s fourth game-winning goal in 2026, a pace that places her atop the national leaderboard outright.

Junior forward Hailey Phillips made her own impact at both ends of the scoring, opening and closing the match as she recorded her first career brace. The multi-goal effort was also MTSU’s first individual two-goal performance since Emma Petterson scored twice against FIU on Oct. 12, 2025.

The result gave the Blue Raiders their second straight win over Evansville and improved their record to 6-1-2. It also represented MTSU’s best non-conference win total since the 2018 season, when the team reached six victories through its first nine games.
