MTSU Women’s Soccer Secures Historical Start next challenge against Purdue

Middle Tennessee Women’s Soccer earned a hard-fought 0-0 draw against rival Lipscomb at Dean A. Hayes Stadium, marking the program's best-ever start to a season at 4-0-2.

The Blue Raiders commanded possession and outshot Lipscomb 16-9, while goalkeeper Ella Sellers and the backline pitched their fifth clean sheet in six matches. Despite generating strong opportunities, MTSU struggled to finish inside the box.

Head Coach Aston Rhoden emphasized that while the record is promising, continuous improvement remains the priority. "The bigger picture is: are we growing? And are we learning for when the big games come?" Rhoden said, noting the need to get more bodies into the red zone to capitalize on rebounds.

MTSU wraps up its three-match homestand on Thursday night when they host Big Ten opponent Purdue (5-0-1), who enters the matchup on a five-game win streak. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
